What is a juice cleanse?

A juice cleanse is a short period, usually 1 to 3 days, where you replace some or all of your meals with fresh juices, water and tea. The idea is simple: give your digestive system lighter work while getting concentrated nutrients from produce in its purest form.

We're not going to promise it flushes toxins or melts kilos. What our regulars tell us is that a cleanse day helps them reset after a heavy weekend, cut back on sugar and caffeine cravings, and come back to eating with more intention.

What's in a Curiosa cleanse

Our cleanse is built differently from most: every juice is a single ingredient. No blends hiding apple juice as filler, no added sugar. You taste exactly one thing per bottle, in a sequence designed to carry you through the day:

1. Ginger – a concentrated start to wake up your metabolism

2. Celery juice – hydrating and mineral-rich for the middle of your morning

3. Carrot juice – naturally sweet, steady energy through the afternoon

4. Beet juice with lemon – richer and grounding to close the day

Alongside the juices, your cleanse day includes water and tea, and if you want something more substantial, a portion of clean protein or nuts.

Recommended add-on: bone broth. We offer organic beef bone broth with ginger and lemon, which adds nutrients, minerals and hydration to your cleanse. If you've never done an all-liquid day before, the broth makes the experience noticeably easier, especially in the evening.

Cleanse options and pricing

Why no 5-day option? True cold-pressed juice stays fresh for about three days, sometimes four. Rather than pasteurize or preserve, we cap the cleanse at three days so every bottle you drink is genuinely fresh. If you want to go longer, come back for a second round.

• In person: stop by Curiosa at Aguascalientes 214 B, Hipódromo, La Condesa. Open Monday to Friday 8am to 7pm, Saturday and Sunday 9am to 6pm. Both the 1-day and 3-day cleanses are available same day, no advance order needed.

Who should (and shouldn't) do a cleanse

A cleanse works well as a short reset for generally healthy adults. It is not a meal replacement plan for weeks on end, and it's not for everyone. Skip the cleanse or talk to your doctor first if you're pregnant, breastfeeding, diabetic, or managing any condition that requires steady food intake. If you train hard, plan your cleanse for a rest day.

A gentler option: replace one meal a day with a juice or one of our smoothie bowls instead of going all-liquid. Plenty of our regulars do exactly that.

Tips for your first cleanse day

• Ease in the day before: lighter dinner, less coffee and alcohol.

• Drink water between juices. The juices don't replace hydration.

• Space your juices every 2 to 3 hours instead of saving them up.

• Save the bone broth for late afternoon or evening, when hunger usually hits hardest.

• If you feel genuinely hungry, reach for the nuts or clean protein. A cleanse shouldn't feel like punishment.

• Break the cleanse gently: fruit, vegetables or a smoothie bowl, not tacos al pastor at midnight. (We love them too. Just not right after.)

FAQ

Why single-ingredient juices instead of blends? Because you know exactly what you're drinking. Most cleanse blends use apple or orange juice as a sweet base, which spikes the sugar content. One ingredient per bottle keeps the cleanse clean and lets each juice do its job.

Do I need to order in advance? No. Both cleanses are available same day since we press fresh every morning. Ordering ahead just means your juices are packed and waiting when you arrive.

How long does the juice last? Cold-pressed juice stays fresh for about three days refrigerated, sometimes four. That's exactly why our longest cleanse is three days.

Is the bone broth required? No, it's an optional add-on, but we recommend it. It adds minerals and makes the cleanse easier to sustain, especially your first time.

Can I customize my cleanse? Yes. If you'd like to swap a juice or have an allergy, tell us when you order and we'll adjust your cleanse.
